For our office in Utrecht we are looking for a fulltime Senior IT System Administrator (SA) who is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

The Sr. System Administrator participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The Sr. System Administrator ensures that system hardware, operating systems, virtual infrastructure, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

What is the purpose of the function?

In this role you will work in project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.

The Sr. System Administrator will be working in a team that is managing, among many, the following systems: Windows Server system, Linux servers, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Simplivity, etc. Responsibilities on these systems include provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, research and development to ensure continual innovation.

The Sr. System Administrator will also support the End-User support team with his advanced knowledge and experience.

The department

The team is an important section of the ICT department and currently comprises 6 members of staff. Their work encompasses existing and new Internet applications as well as the integration of these with internal and external systems. Together with the Marketing, Operations, Project and Product Management departments, the team devise solutions to enable optimum fulfilment of the targets set. Due to the departure of one of our colleagues, we are urgently seeking a Senior Administrator.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

→ Manage the Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure;
→ Manage the Microsoft Active Directory;
→ Manage the Microsoft Exchange / O365 environment;
→ Manage the VMWare infrastructure;
→ Manage the storage and backup environment;
→ Support the EUC team

What do we expect?

→ Bachelor’s Degree Level of education and experience equivalent to higher academic / vocational;
→ A minimum of 4-5 years' work experience in a similar role;
→ Extensive, demonstrable knowledge and experience of Windows server management;
→ Knowledge of Linux is a bonus;
→ Knowledge of Change Management processes.
