Your role and the team
For our office in Utrecht, we are looking for an Accounts Payable. In this position, you will be part of the Finance department, reporting to Accounting Manager, which is responsible for all financial activities of Dutch and Belgium branches.
You will fulfill an independent role, where you are primarily responsible for your own Accounts Payable duties. You prepare invoices for payment after verifying that they comply with all internal policies (e.g., internal approval guidelines and cost competency matrix). Organizing supplier inquiries or claims is also part of the role and your domain.
The team can best be described as an enthusiastic group with a lot of diversity. Result-oriented work is important. Both as a team and on an individual level. You report directly to the Manager Financial Accounting.

Your duties and responsibilities in short
- Checking and booking incoming invoices in the financial system (FIS2000) For the Netherlands and Belgium branches
- Processing and coding all supplier invoices.
- Processing and controlling business credit cards.
- Processing weekly electronic payments, and manual payments request, ensuring timely and correct payments to suppliers.
- Reinforce approval process and budget controls.
- Preparing and maintaining AP reconciliations, as well as explaining and resolving discrepancies in reconciliations.
- Billing for marketing contributions and intercompany entities, as well as collecting the receivables.
- Collaborating daily with colleagues from the General Ledger (GL) team
- Contribute to enhancing and establishing new processes and improve existing ones.
- You assist with the maintenance of the accounting manual, departmental procedures, and work descriptions.
You have
- At least an HBO/Bachelor education, preferably in the field of accounting.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a similar position
- Basic accounting knowledge and VAT knowledge.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred: good command of Dutch and English, in both speech and writing.
- Nice to have experience in an international work environment.
